Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported a significant 30% increase in total sales, reaching 1,78248 units in December 2024, compared to 1,37,551 units in the same month in 2023. The strong sales performance was driven by domestic sales of 1,32,523 units and a record high of 37,419 units in exports.
Additionally, the company registered 8,306 units in sales to other OEMs. This marks a remarkable achievement for Maruti Suzuki, highlighting its growth in both domestic and international markets.
In December 2024, Maruti Suzuki saw notable sales figures in its mini and compact car segments. In Mini category, including models like the Alto and S-Presso, sold 7,418 units, a significant increase from 2,557 units in December 2023. For the April-December period, the Mini segment recorded 89,642 units, slightly lower than the 99,634 units sold in the same period the previous year.
Maruti Suzuki WagonRIn compact segment, which includes popular models such as the Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, and WagonR, saw a substantial 20% rise in December 2024, with 54,906 units sold compared to 45,741 units in December 2023. However, for the April-December period, the segment's total sales of 548,648 units showed a decline from 610,011 units in FY 2023-24.
Maruti Suzuki CelerioMaruti Suzuki's sales in the Mini and Compact segments reached 62,324 units in December 2024, showing a notable increase from 48,298 units in the same month last year. Despite this growth, the total sales for the first nine months of FY 2024-25, at 638,290 units, reflect a decline compared to 709,645 units in the previous year. In the A: Mid-Size category, which includes the Ciaz, December 2024 saw a slight drop in sales, with 464 units sold compared to 489 units in December 2023. The year-to-date sales for this segment also decreased to 5,861 units, down from 8,903 units in the same period last year.
