Raipur: NMDC management policies related to its newly established Nagarnar Steel plant and the people of Bastar are continuously shrouded into controversy. Earlier AAP, now Congress party raised question over steps initiated to privatize the newly built NMDC Steel plant built in Nagarnar. Congress State President declared to carry out a foot march (padyatra) from Khutpadar of Keshkal to Bastar.
State Congress President Deepak Baij has announced to take a one day padyatra in support of his four-point demands from Khutpadar to Bastar on January 4 includes opposition to the disinvestment of NMDC’s Steel Plant in Nagarnar, demand for setting up of NMDC headquarters in Bastar, use of CSR money to provide employment to the local youth and also to register effective opposition to the initiatives which mandated for the cancellation of Super-speciality Hospital in Khutpadar.
At the time of establishment of Nagarnar plant, NMDC had promised to build a super specialty hospital in the affected village Khutpadar village for the plant. But the double engine BJP government has hatched a conspiracy to stop the construction of the super speciality hospital, which we will not allow, alleged Deepak Baij. We will oppose any move which is anti-public, he said.
Bastar Development Authority had allocated 22 acres of land Khuntpadar for the hospital. Now, theNMDC has given a clear response that it will not build the hospital. NMDC had promised that it would build the hospital but the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state has completely stopped working on the project, he alleged.
The BJP government in the state is insensitive about health facilities and the voice of the public is being ignored continuously, which is an insult to democratic values, he said.
