New Delhi: On Friday, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a press conference with Chief Minister Atishi refuting the allegations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister had alleged that the Delhi government did not allow the implementation of the Centre's Ayushman Bharat scheme. Meanwhile, an unexpected incident caught everyone's attention when a person bared his stomach in the middle of the press conference and said that he was not getting treatment. He demanded treatment from AAP convenor Kejriwal.
Prime Minister's allegation and Kejriwal's reply: Prime Minister Modi had said that due to the non-implementation of Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Delhi, the poor are being deprived of health services. On this, Kejriwal said, "Ayushman Bharat Yojana benefits only those who do not have a fridge, TV or motorcycle in their house. The Delhi government does not believe in any such condition. We provide free and high-quality health services to all citizens, whether they have property or not. He said that the Delhi government's model does not deprive anyone of health services. Health services in Delhi are free for everyone, whether poor or rich.
Protest during the press conference: During the press conference, a man suddenly stood up and started showing his stomach. He claimed that he was not getting treatment in Delhi rejected Kejriwal's claims and demanded treatment. This unexpected incident created a stir in the discussion for some time. Kejriwal pacified the man and said, "You are my younger brother, sit down, and we will get you treated." He immediately instructed his workers to note down the name and mobile number of that person and help him.
AAP workers surrounded the man: After the press conference ended, Aam Aadmi Party workers surrounded the man and took him inside the party office. Media personnel tried to talk to him, but the workers did not let him talk to the media. According to party sources, the man's complete information was taken and he was assured of treatment. However, after the incident, questions arose whether this man was really a victim of lack of treatment or was part of some conspiracy.
Delhi Model vs Ayushman Bharat Scheme: This incident once again brought the comparison of the Delhi Model and Ayushman Bharat Scheme into discussion. Kejriwal said that there are many conditions in the Ayushman Bharat scheme, due to which lakhs of people are deprived of its benefits. He said, "In Delhi, whether someone has a car, TV, or Mercedes, if he needs treatment, we provide free treatment." The Delhi government has made revolutionary changes in the field of health, which includes Mohalla clinics and free services in government hospitals. However, this incident that happened during the press conference has given rise to a new debate on Delhi's health services and the Center's Ayushman Bharat scheme.
