Ajmer: On behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister of Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju presented a chadar at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah on Saturday. He referred to his visit to Dargah as “fortunate” and shared PM Modi’s message of “brotherhood.”
“We are lucky to be here. On behalf of Prime Minister Modi, we have brought the chadar. I also read PM Modi’s message, which said that we shall all strive for the peace of our community, nation, and the globe with the intention of brotherhood. “Here, we looked for blessings,” Kiren Rijiju told reporters.
Kiren Rijiju went to Delhi on Friday to worship at the Nizamuddin Aulia Dargah.
The National President of the BJP Minority Morcha accompanied the Union Minister. At the Dargah, Jamal Siddiqui also presented the chadar. He claimed to be there in support of PM Modi’s message of national peace and fraternity.
Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju a “chadar” that will be presented at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah in honor of the 13th-century Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. On Saturday, the Union Minister will present the ‘chadar’ to the dargah on behalf of Prime Minister Modi.
During the Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, this ‘Chadar’ will be presented in the Ajmer Sharif Dargah.PM Modi has been commemorating the anniversary every year by sending a ‘Chadar’ to the temple. Modi has made eleven offerings of a ‘Chadar’ at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah since taking office as prime minister. He will be taking part in this custom for the eleventh time.
On behalf of the Prime Minister, the ‘Chadar’ was brought to the shrine last year during the 812th Urs by Jamal Siddiqui, the then-Union Minister, and a team from the Muslim community.
