GWALIOR: Police in the Madhya Pradesh city of Gwalior have reported that a 25-year-old junior doctor was sexually assaulted by a coworker in an abandoned dormitory at a government-run medical institution.

According to authorities on Monday, the accused, who is also 25 years old, was detained after the alleged event on Sunday.

According to City Superintendent of Police Ashok Jadon, the victim was residing in the Gajraraja Medical College’s ladies’ dormitory and was scheduled to take an exam.

He said that the victim was asked to meet at an old, now-abandoned boys’ dormitory by the accused, a junior doctor who had studied with her.

According to the official, the accused raped and intimidated the victim when she arrived at the abandoned building.

After the victim filed a complaint at Kampu police station here, the accused was taken into custody and charged in accordance with the applicable laws, according to the police.

They stated that the matter was being looked into further.
