Afghanistan sealed a Test series win against Zimbabwe by winning the second game at Bulawayo. The visiting side bowled out Zimbabwe for 205 in their second innings to win the two-match series 1-0. The first Test ended in a draw. Afghanistan etched their name in record books and created history with the series win.Afghanistan became the first Asian team in history to win their maiden Test series outside the continent. The Asian teams mostly struggled on their initial Test tours outside the continent.It took Sri Lanka and Pakistan 9 series each to win their first series outside Asia. Afghanistan, who made their Test debut in 2018, have done it in their very first series.Rashid Khan adjudged Player of the MatchRashid Khan was bestowed with the Player of the Match award for his heroics. He took a four-fer as Afghanistan bowled out Zimbabwe for 243 in the second innings of the game. Afghanistan were bowled out for a mere total of 157 in their first innings.They bounced back strongly and put on a big total of 363 on the board. Asked to chase a target of 278, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 205. Rashid took a seven-fer in the final innings of the game.The first Test of the series ended in a draw as both teams batted for long in their first innings. Opting to bat first, Zimbabwe registered a big total of 586 on the board. Sean Williams, Craig Ervine and Brian Bennett slammed centuries in the big total.Courtesy of double-centuries from Rahmat Shah and Hashmatullah Shahidi, Afghanistan responded with a total of 699. Zimbabwe were 132/4 when the match ended in a draw.Afghanistan won the three-match T20I series 2-1. Zimbabwe kicked off the series with a win but lost the next two games. The first ODI was washed out due to rain. Afghanistan won the 2nd and 3rd ODIs to clinch the series 2-0.
