“The Batman,” starring Robert Pattison, can only join James Gunn‘s DC world if it “makes sense,” according to director Matt Reeves. According to Variety, the sequel’s filming is anticipated to begin this year.
According to Variety, James Gunn recently acknowledged that he was considering including “The Batman” (2022) into his new DC Universe.
Matt Reeves was the director of Batman. In a recent Golden Globes podcast, the actor discussed this issue.
“It really comes down to whether it makes sense,” said Matt Reeves. I had a tale I wanted to share. The grand tale of crime. Playing it out has been crucial to me, and James and Peter have been excellent about it. That is what they are allowing us to do. I’m not exactly sure what the future holds. I don’t know. The most essential thing is that I am now working hard to get ‘The Batman Part II’ shot.
Regarding Robert’s potential move to the DC Universe, Reeves said, “I don’t know, we will have to see where that goes.”
Warner Bros. just revealed “Batman 2’s” revised release date. The movie has been postponed by one year, and it will now be released in theaters throughout the globe on October 1, 2027.
The delay caused disappointment among netizens. James Gunn responded by defending the hold-up and describing it as standard procedure in sequel production. The filmmaker has justified the decision by citing the disparity between the follow-ups to popular movies such as Alien, Incredibles, Terminator, Avatar, Top Gun, and others.
“To be fair, a 5 year gap or more is fairly common in sequels,” he said. “Aliens and aliens for seven years. The Incredibles were separated by 14 years. The first two Terminators were separated by seven years. Avatars were separated by 13 years. Top Guns were separated by 36 years. Naturally, there were six years between Guardians Vols. 2 and 3.
Deadline said that after the news, Gunn revealed the departure was connected to writing. “Yes,” he wrote. It is true, indeed. As those of you who follow me here are likely well aware, the sole reason for the delay is because there isn’t a complete script. No one can predict with precision how long a screenplay will take to write, and Matt is dedicated to creating the greatest movie he can. For large-scale films, pre-production, shooting, and post-production take around two years once the screenplay is complete.
At the box office, Robert Pattinson’s “The Batman” was a great blockbuster. The movie brought in over USD 772 million abroad and USD 369.3 million at home.
