Union Minister Nitin Gadkari was speaking in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. He says that the government's effort is to take India's auto sector to the first place in the world. Today India has reached the third position in automobile manufacturing in the world.
Nitin Gadkari said that India's automobile sector has grown very rapidly in the last few years. Today India has reached the third position in the world in terms of auto sector. He said that now our aim is to make India number-1 in this sector.
Nitin Gadkari was addressing the National Automotive Test Tracks (Natracks) function here. He said, ...our number was seventh in the world but in the auto sector today we are at number three. We left Japan behind and now we are in third place.” Nitin Gadkari said that in this ranking only America and China are ahead of India. The size of the auto sector in America is Rs 78 lakh crore. Whereas in China it is worth Rs 47 lakh crore.
The Union Minister said, “When I took over as minister, the size of this sector was Rs 7.5 lakh crore. Today the auto sector is worth Rs 22 lakh crore…and this is the industry which has created 4.5 crore jobs so far, which is the highest in the country.
Nitin Gadkari said that it is the auto industry which is giving the highest revenue as part of GST to the state government and the Government of India. He said that the export of this industry is maximum. 'Our dream is to make India's auto sector number one in the world.
