In the IPL mega auction held about one and a half months ago, some players who had created a lot of buzz in the last few seasons were also disappointed. One such player has now vented his anger on the bowlers as soon as he got the first chance. The new season of SA20 League started in South Africa from Thursday 9 January and in the very first match, an explosive innings was seen, which blew the bowlers' senses. This innings came from the bat of MI Cape Town's young batsman Dewald Brevis, who scored his first half-century of the season by hitting sixes.

This match was played between defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Cape Town in Port Elizabeth. In this match Cape Town batted first. The team had a very bad start but after that Brevis was in good form. This South African batsman, who became famous as 'Baby AB' due to comparison with the legendary batsman AB de Villiers, played a strong innings for his team and reached a strong score.

Brevis rained in the very first match

Brewis, who came at number five after the loss of 3 wickets for only 42 runs in the seventh over, did not waste much time and started targeting the Sunrisers bowlers. This right-handed batsman made a quick partnership of 67 runs with Colin Ingram and soon became the first batsman to score a half-century in the third season of the league. Brewis completed his fifty in just 23 balls and was finally out after scoring 57 runs in just 29 balls.

In his innings, this batsman hit 6 high and long sixes, while 2 fours also came from his bat. Apart from Brewis, George Linda also scored 23 runs in 17 balls and number nine batsman Delano Potgieter scored 25 runs in just 12 balls. On the basis of these innings, Cape Town scored a strong score of 174 runs after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs.

There was disappointment in IPL mega auction

Brewis was disappointed in the IPL auction held in November last year. Brewis, who was a part of Mumbai Indians for the last 3 seasons, did not find any buyer in the auction this time, which surprised everyone. Brewis, who caught everyone's attention with his stormy innings in the Under-19 World Cup in 2022, played some short but fast innings in the first season of IPL. However, he did not get many opportunities in the last two seasons.
