Mayur Gediya, is the founder of BL Fabric, a startup specializing in ethnic wear for women. The brand stands out for its affordability, offering semi-stitched bridal lehengas at prices 65-70% lower than traditional markets. Customers can customize their dream outfits, with options for threadwork, zari work, and sequin embroidery. Every design is crafted in-house by a team of 25 skilled artisans, resulting in a stunning collection of over 200 unique styles. This direct-to-consumer model has driven rapid growth for the brand.

Launched in 2021, BL Fabric has already achieved impressive milestones. Initially starting as a small venture the company recorded a remarkable growth that caught the attention of Shark Tank India judges. During the Shark Tank India pitch, Aman Gupta praised Mayur's impressive skills, while Ritesh shifted focus to the business's unit economics. Mayur explained that his sales had doubled, thanks to his expertise in leveraging social media. When Vineeta Singh inquired about his social media team, Mayur revealed that he managed everything independently. Although he has a camera person to shoot videos, the editing, posting, and overall strategy are entirely his responsibility. Namita, intrigued by his efforts, asked about his content output, to which Mayur disclosed that he creates around 20-25 posts each month.

Mayur Gediya attempted to negotiate by asking for a 3% equity stake, emphasizing the importance of a higher valuation to match his sales potential. Ritesh revised his offer to 4%, but with a condition: the terms would change if Mayur achieved Rs 15 crore in revenue. Kunal then encouraged Mayur to choose between the two sharks. Instead of selecting one, Mayur proposed having both on board. After some deliberation, the sharks agreed to a joint conditional offer, sealing the deal with Mayur—a strategic move that reflected his entrepreneurial instincts and understanding of collaboration.

Mayur’s entrepreneurial journey began with experience working in his brother’s clothing business, but his vision for BL Fabric extended beyond conventional retail. Leveraging social media to amplify his brand, he single-handedly grew BL Fabric’s online presence to a million Instagram followers and 24.2 lakh YouTube subscribers. This digital strategy has become a cornerstone of the company’s success, allowing direct engagement with customers and showcasing the brand's versatile collection.

Mayur’s creativity extends to his personal style as well. For his Shark Tank appearance, he designed his own outfit—a black faux georgette kurta featuring intricate multicoloured thread embroidery inspired by nature. Paired with sleek black trousers, the ensemble demonstrated his flair for merging tradition with contemporary aesthetics.

By combining affordability with craftsmanship and leveraging digital channels, Mayur Bharatbhai has carved a niche for himself and also set a new benchmark for accessible luxury in fashion.
