Ange Postecoglou has praised Tamworth for their performance in the FA Cup third round. The non-league side held Spurs to a goalless draw for 90 minutes before eventually succumbing to a 3-0 defeat in extra time.
Postecoglou said: "Credit to Tamworth, they made it hard for us. They should be really proud of their efforts and I'm sure everyone in the ground had a good day. For us, we move on."
He refused to compare this match with their recent victory over Liverpool, stating: "I don't think it's a swing in level of performance. It's just a game of football.
"It's still difficult to score goals, it doesn't matter who you're playing against. As far as I'm aware we're through to the next round and that was the objective today. It's very easy on a day like this to lose your head when things aren't going your way and you realise the consequences, but for the most part we stayed calm, persistent and got through."
Tamworth's manager, Andy Peaks, was also full of praise for his team, saying: "They all go back to work tomorrow but they can go with their heads held high.
"Everyone put a shift in, everyone stuck to the remit. It was unbelievable from our boys, I'm just so proud of them."
Regarding the change in fortunes in extra time, he remained philosophical: "Why wouldn't we be getting tired by then? We're a part-time club against, I think, probably 11 internationals at that stage."
He added: "I'm not even looking into that. I wanted to come here and be proud of what I've seen. I'm extremely proud and I think it was a successful day for the club."
