Its often said that a single bad decision can derail a promising career. Today well explore the story of an actor who made a remarkable debut in Bollywood. Right from his first film he drew comparisons to legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna. Despite having no connections in the film industry he made a strong impression in Hindi cinema. However his career failed to gain momentum after his debut leaving him as a one-film star. We are talking about none other than Prithvi Vazir.  Born in Delhi Prithvi had no initial interest in films. However his life changed when producer Mukesh Duggal discovered him and offered him the lead role in a romantic drama. Prithvi made his Bollywood debut alongside Divya Bharti in Lawrence DSouzas Dil Ka Kya Kasoor (1992) a musical hit. The films success was bolstered by Nadeem-Shravans chart-topping music and the impressive performances of Divya and Prithvi which resonated with audiences. Despite a promising debut his career as a leading actor failed to take off.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Nawab Arzoo (@nawabarzoo_lyricist) After Dil Ka Kya Kasoor Prithvi became closely associated with producer Mukesh Duggal and was bound by a contract. This contract forced him to turn down superhit films like Deewana and Darr which ultimately propelled Shah Rukh Khan to stardom. In an interview Prithvi reflected on the situation stating I was trapped in a contract from which it was very difficult to get out. And they tied up my peak time. I didn’t disappear. I was always alive in the hearts of my fans. I could not do films as I was stuck in the contract. After that Prithvi found himself taking on more supporting roles. Though dissatisfied with this turn he continued acting in films such as Daraar (1996) Ghulam (1998) Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet (1999) Humraaz (2002) Maa Tujhe Salaam (2002) and Khajar (2003) Jimmy (2008). He also tried his luck in television but failed to achieve much success in the medium either. Today he leads a quiet life in Mumbai still hopeful for a promising opportunity that could mark his return to films.
