January 13, Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: Following the Men of Steel’s (JFC) decisive 3-0 victory against Mumbai City FC (MCFC) in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Mumbai Football Arena on Sunday, head coach Khalid Jamil commended the team’s teamwork.

Jamil’s team increased their aggressive play after the first half ended without a goal, and they were properly rewarded with excellent finishing in front of goal.

In their second league double against the Islanders, Jamshedpur defeated them thanks to goals from Mohammed Sanan, Jordan Murray, and Javi Hernandez.

With 27 points from 14 games, the victory moved Jamshedpur FC up to third position in the standings.

“The guys put a lot of effort into the game, which made it significant. According to ISL, Jamil said in the post-match news conference, “That’s a key point, because it was because of them that we got this result.”

As the Men of Steel extended their winning run to three games, Jamil praised each player’s participation and their part in obtaining another win.

“Javi (Hernandez) played really well, as did Jordan (Murray), Lazar (Cirkovic), who was also in midfield, Pratik (Chaudhuri), and Nikhil (Barla), who also did a great job,” Jamil said.

As usual, Imran (Khan), Sanan, Sourav (Das), and even (Muhammad) Uvais were all strong, as was Albino (Gomes). It was a team effort, as Sourav dictated the play in midfield before Len (Doungel) in and performed well,” Jamil said.

In what seems to be yet another crucial test for Jamil’s team, Jamshedpur FC will next visit league leaders Mohun Bagan Super Giant on January 17.

In front of their home audience, the Men of Steel will be hoping to maintain their winning run and take on the table-toppers.

“The table-top team is our opponent. The only thing that has to be fixed is that we lost to them on their own field. We should have a good attitude since it’s our home game,” he said.
