  Microsoft has confirmed that its India operations will not face layoffs even as the company makes minor workforce reductions globally impacting less than 1% of its total workforce based on performance evaluations. Puneet Chandok President of Microsoft India and South Asia reassured that the company is actively expanding in India with more job opportunities being created. Microsoft Job Security In India While Microsoft’s global workforce stands at 228000 employees its India operations contribute approximately 20000 employees. Addressing concerns about layoffs Chandok stated “No not in India. We are engaged in so many projects. In fact for all of India more jobs are being created.” Microsoft $3 Billion Investment In India In a significant push to strengthen its footprint in the country Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella recently announced a $3 billion investment to enhance Azure’s infrastructure in India. This marks Microsoft’s largest investment in the country to date. The initiative includes: Establishing new data centres. Integrating sustainable technologies such as liquid-cooled AI accelerators.
