The son of cricket great Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar, is expected to return for Goa against Nagaland in the Ranji Trophy plate group final. The game will take place in Dimapur from January 23 to 27.
Goa benched the all-rounder Arjun for the Vijay Hazare Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. With 16 wickets in four games in Ranji season, he is still their third-highest wicket-taker. He may reach the 20-wicket mark if he plays well in the final.
Prior to the 2022–2023 season, the 25-year-old relocated to Goa, where he had an unforgettable Ranji Trophy debut by hitting a century against Rajasthan. He has participated in 17 games and claimed 37 wickets in first-class cricket. In 18 List A and 24 T20 matches, Arjun has also claimed 52 wickets in white-ball cricket.
Arjun will rejoin the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after the Ranji final. After failing to sell in the first round, he returned to the team in the IPL 2025 mega-auction. In the closing seconds of the auction, he was purchased by the Mumbai Indians for Rs 30 lakh.
Arjun began his IPL career with the Mumbai Indians in 2021 and made his debut for the team in 2023. His goal for the next season is to get consistent chances.
