New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir pacer Umar Nazir Mir bowled a brilliant spell dismissing Rohit Sharma Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube during the Ranji Trophy match against Mumbai on Thursday. The 31-year-old troubled the batsmen with his pace and bounce and Mumbai lost wickets at regular intervals. Mir dismissed Rohit for 3 off a short-pitched delivery and then clean bowled Rahane for 12. Dube was caught by Kanhaiya Wadhawan for zero. It was a brilliant performance from Mir who is an experienced player having played for Jammu and Kashmir in domestic cricket. Mir made his debut in 2013 Mir made his debut in 2013 and since then he has taken 138 wickets in 57 matches. He has 54 wickets in List A cricket while the fast bowler has taken 32 wickets in T20s. Hailing from Pulwama and standing at 6 feet 4 inches tall Mir was also selected in the India C squad for the 2018-19 Deodhar Trophy. Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal pair disappointed: The much-awaited return to domestic cricket for India captain Rohit Sharma and his Test opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal was a big disappointment as both got out cheaply in Mumbais Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir here on Thursday. Rohit and Jaiswal had paired up for defending champions Mumbai for the first time but the return to home turf did not go well for the star cricketers and were dismissed for 3 and 4 respectively. Jaiswal was pinned in front of the wicket by Jammu and Kashmir right-arm pacer Aaqib Nabi who made the most of the fresh wicket to move the new ball dangerously off the surface at the BKC Ground here. Trying to get the ball on the on side Rohit pushed the ball forward which was caught by Jammu and Kashmir captain Paras Dogra at mid-off. Interestingly Dogra took the field wearing the number 9 jersey which Yudhvir Singh usually wears leading to some confusion. The 31-year-old Umar continued to build momentum by dismissing Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane for 12 ending his resistance.
