MP Ujjwal Raman Singh accused the government of corruption in the name of Mahakumbh and said that the foundation of corruption had been laid long ago. Wood worth Rs 200 crore, used as 'sleeper' (thick wooden plank) to build the Pipa bridge, was supplied from private companies. He said that the wood used for the Pipa bridge was always supplied from the forest departments of other state governments. But this time it was supplied illegally from many private companies. The result was that 'sleepers' could not be supplied on time and even those that were supplied were of poor quality.
Questioning the preparations for the Mahakumbh, the MP said, “Road construction for the Mahakumbh has also fallen victim to corruption. In every Kumbh, even the streets and drains of the localities were constructed. But this time even the main road and intersection were not touched. He said, “Due to the government's mismanagement, people are facing problems after walking 20 kilometers each. The situation is such that the facilities for pilgrim priests and Kalpavasis have been cut. “The pilgrimage priests have been allotted places of worship away from the Sangam due to which the devotees are facing inconvenience.” In the press conference, a documentary was also screened on the alleged disturbances in the Maha Kumbh and the problems being faced by the saints and devotees.
