Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) announced on January 24 the acquisition of a controlling 60% stake in Pegatron Technology India Private Limited (PTI). This strategic move comes less than a year after Tata Electronics acquired Wistron’s India operations in Narsapura Karnataka in March 2024. The acquisition underscores Tata Sons’ Chairman N Chandrasekaran’s vision of driving significant investments in electronics manufacturing within the Tata Group.
The deal positions TEPL as a leading force in Indias electronics manufacturing sector. As part of the acquisition TEPL and PTI will integrate their teams to streamline operations. Pegatron Technology India will undergo rebranding to align with its new ownership structure and strategic business direction. Despite the transition PTI will continue to provide high-quality electronics manufacturing services to its clients.
