Evan Ferguson's first words on West Ham move, Graham Potter reunion and his 'very good feeling'

West Ham United have signed Evan Ferguson on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old is reunited with , who gave Ferguson his senior debut for Brighton in August 2021 when he was just 16 years old. Ferguson, who has been handed the No.34 shirt, put pen to paper on Monday morning and admitted he has a "very good feeling" about what's to come. Speaking to West Ham TV, Ferguson said: "It feels good to be here. Seeing the stadium and being here today, I’ve got a very good feeling.

“I can see and know how big West Ham United is. It was a big opportunity for me to come here. I know the gaffer well and look forward to working under him again. I want to come in and do my best for the Club, score goals, and see where we get to.”

Potter is equally as excited to work with the striker once again. “I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring Evan in on loan until the end of the season,” said the Hammers boss. “He’s a player we obviously know very well, so I’m grateful to the board for bringing him in.

“He’s got plenty of quality attributes as a striker that we believe will benefit the group over the course of the coming months. We’re excited to integrate him into the squad and see him in action in the weeks to come.”

Ferguson will be hoping his new side can get a good result at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea on Monday night, although he will have one eye on the clash against Brentford on February 15, which may be when the striker makes his Hammers debut.
