New Delhi: Harshit Rana had an exceptional debut in ODIs claiming three wickets to help India dismiss England for 248 in the opening match. Though his third over saw him concede 26 runs he recovered well and dismissed Ben Duckett Harry Brook and Liam Livingstone. Ranas impressive performance earned him a distinct achievement as he became the first Indian player to take 3+ wickets on debut in all three formats. He had earlier taken 3/33 in his T20I debut against England and claimed 3/48 in his Test debut during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth. Bumrah who sustained a back injury during the fifth Test against Australia was included in the Champions Trophy and final ODI squad against England but his fitness remains uncertain. If Bumrah is ruled out his absence would be a major setback for India in the Champions Trophy. Meanwhile Harshit reflected on his performance and said It was my dream. I prepared myself for this and put in the hard yards. I didnt hit the right lengths initially but got the rewards once I corrected them. They were looking to make some room (the batters) thats the reason I kept bowling on the stumps. Its a slightly two-paced pitch. Some of them are coming on nicely some are stopping a bit. We bounced back in style. Its a good total and we can chase this down.
