Uttarakhand�देहरादून : Indian boxer Lovelina Borgohen won the gold medal in the women's 75kg category at the 38th National Games on Friday, while Shiv Thapa won the silver medal in the men's 63.5 kg category. The Paris, who was boxing for the first time after the Paris 2024 Olympics, made a victorious comeback in the ring by defeating Pranshu Rathore of Chandigarh 5–0 with a unanimous decision.

The 27 -year -old Indian boxer also won a gold medal in the same weight category at the 2022 National Games held in Gujarat. In the final of the men's 63.5 kg category, Shiv Thapa, who represented India at the London 2012 Olympics, had to be content with the silver medal after facing a 4–3 defeat against the descendants of the Services Sports Central Board. Six -time Asian Champion and Arjun Award winner Thapa won a bronze medal at the 2022 National Games. Meanwhile, junior world champion Ankushita Boro created history by defeating Kajal of Uttarakhand 5–0 and winning the 66 kg welterweight event.

This was her third consecutive gold medal in the National Games, before she topped the podium in the last two editions. In the other notable final of the day, Mandengbam Singh of Services won the 51 kg flyweight bout against Anshul Punia with a 4-1 divided decision, while Commonwealth Games bronze medalist Zasmine Lomboria defeated Manisha Maun of Haryana 5-0 by defeating Haryana 5-0. Winned women's 60 kg category. At the same time, Nivedita Kari of Uttarakhand defeated Haryana's Kalpana 5-0 in the flyweight 50 kg category of women and Divya Panwar of Madhya Pradesh defeated Sonia Lather of Uttar Pradesh 4–1 in the women's Banomvet 54 kg category.
