Projected weather maps show there is an increasingly probability that just two counties in England will be spared snow on
On February 14, snow could be heading to much of the UK as the turns increasingly wintry. According to projected maps and charts from , which use Met Desk modelling, snow could be set to hammer Wales and Northern Ireland before spreading to the East Midlands, which faces 5cm of the white stuff. The band of snowy weather will also impact northern England and , north of the border, too.
Only East Anglia and southern England will be spared, meaning Berkshire, Bucks, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Sussex, Hampshire, Kent, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Wiltshire, reported. The deepest snowfall is likely to hit the Scottish Highlands, where the maps suggest as much as 9cm could settle on the ground.

The Pennines could see 8cm, and North Wales looks set for 5cm. Netweather TV has issued guidance for next week, predicting in a blog post: "A Scandinavian blocking high is looking set to be more persistent than I previously envisaged, often ridging over and to the north of Britain, which means that we won't see the rapid return of low pressure systems off the North Atlantic.
"The weather during this week is forecast to be generally dry, but with some precipitation coming in off the North Sea at times into eastern counties, especially eastern Scotland, and potential for some frontal systems to push into the west and south-west towards the end of the week.
"There is limited cold pooling over continental Europe, so while easterly winds are forecast to feature on and off during the week, there is only an outside (around 10-20%) chance of the easterlies bringing substantial snowfalls.
"However, even in the most likely scenario, some wintry showers are likely at times in the east and north-east, perhaps with a thin covering in places especially on high ground. It will often be cloudy in the east and south of Britain, but many western areas, especially western Scotland and north-west England, can expect frequent sunny periods. South-western areas have potential to see some snow from frontal systems towards the end of the week, but this is uncertain."
