Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Monday that monthly assistance under the Ladli Bahna Yojana will be increased gradually from Rs 1,250 to three thousand rupees. During a ceremony held in Dewas, Mohan Yadav transferred Rs 1,553 crore to the accounts of 1.27 crore women beneficiaries of Ladli Bahna Yojana.
Mohan Yadav said, 'I want to tell the sisters that we are transferring Rs 1,250 now. Do not worry, we will gradually increase this amount to three thousand rupees.
Jeetu Patwari, president of the Madhya Pradesh unit of the Congress, retaliated and wrote on X that the issue of increase in aid has been left only, which is being repeated so many times that the importance of 'announcement' is over. Patwari said that like former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Mohan Yadav is also lying to his beloved sisters.
He said, the budget is not growing as promise, but is continuously decreasing. New names of beneficiaries are not being added and old names are also being reduced. On October 4, 2023, the number of beneficiaries of Ladli Bahna Yojana was 1.31 crore, which declined to 1.27 crore on 10 February 2025.
During the Dewas program, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav sent Rs 337 crore in the accounts of 56 lakh social security pension beneficiaries and Rs 1,624 crore in the accounts of 81 lakh farmers. He also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 53 projects costing Rs 144.84 crore.
