The Andhra Pradesh government plans to integrate Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) services into its WhatsApp Governance initiative. Last month, The state government launched ‘Mana Mitra’, aimed at providing government services to citizens via WhatsApp. This aims to enhance citizen convenience and accessibility to various government services. An official WhatsApp number (9552300009) has been allocated for these services.

Key Services To Be Offered

Some of the key services that will be made available through WhatsApp Governance under the Mana Mitra initiative include:

TTD Services: From booking darshan tickets to accommodation bookings, devotees will be able to access various Tirupati Devasthanam services directly through WhatsApp.

Railway Tickets: Citizens may also be able to purchase railway tickets through WhatsApp Governance, subject to collaboration with the Central Government.

Movie Tickets: The Andhra government is also exploring the possibility of allowing citizens to book movie tickets through WhatsApp.

Public Feedback: WhatsApp Governance will also enable citizens to provide feedback on government services, facilitating improved governance and accountability.

Enhancing Cyber Security

To ensure the security and integrity of these services, the government has emphasised the importance of robust cyber security measures. All departments will be required to implement stringent cyber security protocols to prevent any potential vulnerabilities.

Future Plans

The government is also exploring the possibility of introducing QR code verification and Aadhaar authentication to further enhance the security and convenience of WhatsApp Governance services.

This initiative is part of the Andhra Pradesh government’s efforts to leverage technology and improve citizen accessibility to government services. With the integration of TTD services and other amenities, WhatsApp Governance is poised to become a comprehensive platform for citizens to access various services and provide feedback.

At the launch of the ‘Mana Mitra’ initiative, Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh said, “These days at the press of a button, we are watching a movie, food is delivered, a cab is coming. The question arose as to why the government does not come to the people. I said that day that I was accepting that challenge. Governance is now in the hands of the people, ours is a people’s government."
