According to police sources, Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani clarified that India’s Got Latent is unscripted, allowing panellists and contestants to speak freely and naturally during the show.
They also told the police that judges are not paid but can share the show's content on social media. Sources revealed that contestants must purchase a ticket to participate, and the ticket sales earnings go to the winner.
In an exclusive interview with CNN-News18, Rakhi Sawant claimed she was paid to appear on India’s Got Latent. Despite this, she expressed support for Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina amid the ongoing controversy.
The controversy started when podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia made an inappropriate joke about “parental s*x” on Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent. In the viral clip, he asked a contestant a highly offensive question, which sparked outrage and criticism for being vulgar.
The video was removed from YouTube after the I&B Ministry and NHRC stepped in following heavy criticism from politicians, celebrities, and public figures. The matter reached Parliament, and police registered an FIR against 30 individuals for promoting vulgar content.
