Mangaluru: Kashmir Menezes, a former central president of Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh (1991-93), a dedicated social worker, skilled organizer, and retired teacher from Beltangady, passed away on Wednesday (Feb 12) after a brief illness. He was 79 years old.
Menezes served as the chief trustee of Ratnamanas, Ujire, from 1972 to 2012. He also worked as a teacher at Ujire Sri Dharmasthala Secondary School and SDM High School, Dharmasthala, and later served as the director of SDM Residential College. Additionally, he was known for his expertise in agriculture.
He is survived by his wife, two children, grandchildren, and a large circle of relatives and well-wishers.
The Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh (R.) expressed deep condolences on his demise. Dr. J.B. Saldanha, Spiritual Director, Alwyn D’Souza Paneer, Central President, former presidents Stany Lobo Bantwal, L.J. Fernandes, and Gerald D’Costa, along with the central executive committee members, extended their heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
