Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his family are preparing to temporarily vacate their iconic residence, Mannat, due to ongoing renovation and refurbishment work. Reports from Indian media suggest that the Khan family will shift to a rented apartment in Mumbai’s upscale Pali Hill area until the renovation is complete.
Sources report that significant structural and interior changes are underway at Mannat, the massive sea-facing bungalow in Bandra, Mumbai. The upscale home, frequently called a palace because of its grandness, has been Shah Rukh Khan’s abode along with his wife Gauri Khan and children for years. Nevertheless, the widespread renovation work forced them to temporarily shift elsewhere.
Though information about the nature of the renovations themselves is not available, it is said that the alterations will upgrade the house both functionally and aesthetically. Mannat, the Mumbai landmark, is not only a house but an icon for Shah Rukh Khan’s superstar status and huge success. It is one of India’s most popular celebrity houses, with hundreds of devotees visiting each day. Numerous fans from all over the nation flock outside the imposing gates of Mannat in the hope of getting a glimpse of the Bollywood icon.
As Shah Rukh Khan and his family get ready to shift into their temporary house in Pali Hill, fans will surely miss them at Mannat. But once the renovation is over, the superstar and his family will return to their favorite home, which will most probably have an even more majestic and modernized appearance.
Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan is in the news again for his kind and ethical act of goodwill towards director Renu Chopra. The actor refused to take any interest on a loan he had advanced for her 2017 release Ittefaq, stating it was “haraam” (prohibited) in his religion.
Ravi Chopra’s widow, Renu Chopra, spoke very highly of Khan’s unshakeable support, particularly at a time when finances were tight. She remembered during an interview that when she was going through tough times financially, she informed Khan that she couldn’t finance the project. To her surprise, Khan volunteered to invest in the movie without even reading the script. “I said to him, ‘I don’t have money,’ and he said, ‘I’ll invest the money,’” she remembered.
