Huawei has introduced a new Premium Edition of its flagship Mate 70 Probut in an unexpected twist, the device comes with a downgraded CPU rather than an upgrade. The Huawei Mate 70 Pro Premium Edition is set to go on sale in China on March 5offering slightly reduced performance in exchange for a lower price tag.
Despite its Premium branding, this version of the Mate 70 Pro features an underclocked processoras confirmed by a Geekbench listing. The PLR-AL50 model scored:
Single-core: 1,450
Multi-core: 3,793
These results are underwhelmingputting it in the same performance bracket as mid-range devices like the Infinix Zero 40. However, Huawei has not officially disclosed the chipset downgrade in its promotional materials.
Aside from the CPU adjustment, the Huawei Mate 70 Pro Premium Edition retains the same premium hardware as the standard Mate 70 Pro:
6.9″ OLED Display – 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals.
Camera System:
The Huawei Mate 70 Pro Premium Edition is available in Green, Purple, White, and Blackwith pricing set at:
CNY 6,199 ($850) – 256 GB storage
CNY 6,699 ($920) – 512 GB storage
CNY 7,699 ($1,050) – 1 TB storage
Despite its lower pricethe underclocked CPU makes it a less appealing option for power users. Huawei has not announced any plans to launch this model outside China.
