Many actors in Bollywood often follow their parents footsteps and pursue the same career. However today we will talk about an actor whose father was not an actor but a famous cricketer. Despite that this actor did not choose to be a cricketer but an actor. Today he is a well-known face in the Bollywood industry and has married a famous actress as well. We are talking about Angad Bedi. Angads father was the former Indian cricket captain the late Bishan Singh Bedi. Instead of following his fathers footsteps Angad decided to become an actor. He entered Bollywood and made his own identity. Few people know that Angad Bedi played cricket up to the Under-19 level for Delhi before pursuing a career in modeling and later transitioning to acting. Angad Bedis father Bishan Singh Bedi was a well-known Indian cricketer. He played Test cricket for India from 1966 to 1979 and also led the Indian cricket team in 22 Test matches. Angad Bedi made his debut with Kaya Taran in 2004. The movie was an adaptation of a Malayalam short story by N.S. Madhavan Vanmarangal Veezhumpol. In one of his interviews Bedi also revealed that when he was hardly 17 he dreamed of becoming an actor. He said that he learned a lot of skills by watching Amitabh Bachchans films. In another interview Angad opened up about how his father reacted when he revealed that he wanted to be an actor. He said that after knowing Angads wishes his father got extremely angry and stopped talking to him for 20 years. Later when Angad became an actor reports claim that Amitabh Bachchan was the one who reconciled things between father and son. Though Bedi won the hearts of audiences he is still trying to establish his name in the industry. Following Kaya Taran and a short stint on television Angad Bedi made his Bollywood comeback in 2011 with Remo DSouzas film F.A.L.T.U. Angad has done movies like Ungli (2014) Pink (2016) Dear Zindagi (2016) Soorma (2018) and Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020). In 2018 Bedi tied the knot with Neha Dhupia. The couple has a daughter born in November 2018 and a son born in October 2021.
