His tenure in the IPL could also extend further if he desires. Considering how Kohli has maintained his fitness and adapted his game playing at the highest level for at least another four years seems entirely feasible. He has refined his batting for various formats which ensures he remains a significant player even as he ages. His skill in pacing an innings particularly in ODIs coupled with his flawless technique in Tests means India will continue to count on him for the foreseeable future. Perhaps even the 2027 World Cup in South Africa could be another milestone in his career. When it comes to the IPL it ultimately depends on how long Kohli wishes to continue. With the flexibility of the franchise system which allows players to extend their careers without the pressures of international cricket Kohli could easily play for RCB into his early 40s as long as his motivation stays high much like MS Dhoni. In the end Kohlis career will be shaped by his desire for runs and trophies and if history is any indicator hes not the type to step away anytime soon.
