300 women boxers will participate in the national championship

Delhi Delhi: 300 boxers will participate in the 8th Elite Women's National Boxing Championship to be held in Greater Noida from March 21-27. The tournament organized in collaboration with the UP Boxing Association is being held at the same place where its previous edition was held in 2023.

This championship organized under the World Boxing and Boxing Federation (BFI) Competition Guidelines is open to boxers born between January 1, 1984 and December 31, 2005. The pro -state unit can field a maximum of 10 boxers, in which the entries will be closed on 10 March and the final name will be closed on 10 March. Will begin on 20 March.

The initial rounds will be from March 21 to 24, followed by the quarter -finals on 25 March and the semi -finals on 26 March, after which the final will be held on 27 March. The tournament will follow the three -round format, which will have a three -minute rounds and one minute rest. The mandatory scoring system of ten points will apply, and all matches will follow the World Boxing Technical and Competition Rules.

Boxers will also have to measure weight daily during the competition. Apart from 300 competitive boxers, the championship will also include more than 100 coaches and assistant employees, 60 technical officers, who will ensure top level spectacle.

After a spectacular performance in the previous edition, the defending winning Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) would like to retain its title, where he won five gold medals, one silver and two bronze medals. RSPB left Haryana behind by eight points, Haryana finished second with seven medals including three gold, three silver and a bronze.
