Meerut: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday made several important announcements regarding the development of the city during a media interaction in Meerut. He informed that the state's first sports university in Meerut is being built in the name of Major Dhyanchand, whose construction is likely to be completed by November 2025. CM Yogi said that I have inspected it and there is a plan to start its first session this year. This university will play an important role in furthering the players of UP. Initially its classes will run at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology.
The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Meerut has achieved the best connectivity of the country in the last 10 years. In this episode, the country's first rapid rail service has started from Delhi to Meerut, while the 12 -lane expressway has already started for Meerut.
Addressing the media, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath further said that the construction of Ganga Expressway connecting Meerut to Lucknow and Prayagraj is in the final stages and this time the budget has decided to expand it from Meerut to Haridwar. After infrastructure development in Prayagraj, special attention is being paid to Meerut.

The Chief Minister said that issues like inner ring road, traffic jam, vending zone, sewer, drainage and solid waste management have been discussed by meeting with local administration and public representatives. He assured that the necessary funds will be made available on time to receive the proposal. CM Yogi said that it is our resolve to make Meerut with the best facilities. CM Yogi appreciated the interest of public representatives in development work and said that his activism is making rapid progress in Meerut and surrounding areas. During this, he insisted on making Meerut a model city with better planning.
