various areas of the nation celebrate Holi on various dates. In Barsana and Braj, Holi starts on Basant Panchami, while in Kashi, it is known as Rangbhari Ekadashi, which comes on March 10. In other locations, the holiday begins considerably earlier. There will likely be a sizable number of believers in Varanasi, also called Kashi, particularly at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, where people celebrate by playing Holi with the gods.

In the holy city of Uttar Pradesh, the celebration is particularly noteworthy. It starts with Lord Shiva and Mata Gauri playing gulal, or colorful powder, which represents the blessing of a happily married life. The streets of Kashi come alive with the festival’s dancing and music, and Kashi Vishwanath and Mata Gauri are decked up for the event.

“Rangbhari Ekadashi, which has been observed for 500 years, is today… We visit several monasteries and temples for devotion while carrying Hanuman Ji’s holy emblems, music, and celebrations. “We all take a holy dip in the Sarayu River after that,” a resident stated.

Lord Shiva took his newlywed bride, Mata Gauri, to Kashi for the first time on the Rangbhari Ekadashi. Since then, the custom of Holi festivities in Kashi has persisted on this unique occasion, and it is celebrated with tremendous fervor.

In accordance with Hindu doctrine, the idols of Lord Shiva and Mata Gauri are positioned at the place of devotion on Rangbhari Ekadashi, and devotees take an early morning bath. After that, they are honored with bel patra, flowers, and gulal. An aarti with camphor is conducted while a lamp of pure ghee is lighted. The region’s Holi festivities officially begin with this. This year, you may participate in the festivities in Varanasi and enjoy the customary Holi of Kashi, which lasts for a week.
