Running, or running speed, is an important part of physical fitness and health. The speed of running is also affected due to changes in the body with age. According to every age, there should be an ideal running speed, which depends on the physical condition and health of the person.
Although each person's running speed can vary, but in general, a range of running speed is fixed in groups of different ages.
18 to 30 years: In this age group, the body is at its physical peak, and the speed of running can be up to 12-15 km/h.
31 to 45 years: The speed in this group may be slightly reduced, about 10–12 km/h, as muscles and joints may decrease slightly.
46 to 60 years: The speed of running at this age should be between 8-10 km/h.
60 years and above: At this age the speed can decrease by 6-8 km/h, because with age, stamina and muscle strength decreases.
If a person's running speed is relatively low, it may be a sign of physical illness or lack of fitness. Especially if the speed is quite low in age, then it can show muscle weakness, problems in bone health, or cardiovascular health conditions. In such cases, the person should get medical examination done and seek the help of correct training.
It is important that we take care of our fitness even with aging. The body's stamina and speed can be improved by doing activities like regular running, yoga, and stretching regularly. In addition, balanced diet and adequate rest are also essential for physical health.
