Every time a film hits the big screen there are lots of hopes and expectations attached to it. A cherry on top in this situation is when star kids are launched by their family members. Similarly recently a film made it to the theater halls. While expectations from the film were high it turned out to be a huge flop. The budget of the film was reportedly around Rs 80 crore but it earned only Rs 10 crore worldwide. If you are guessing which film we are talking about then the movie is Azaad.
Azad was released on January 17 2025 and is directed by Abhishek Kapoor. The movie featured Ajay Devgns nephew Aaman Devgan and Raveena Tandons daughter Rasha Thadani. The movie marked the debut of both Aaman and Rasha. Apart from these two the film also starred Ajay Devgn Diana Penty Piyush Mishra and Mohit Malik in key roles.
Before the movie was released the makers ensured that the promotion of the film was in full swing. Though the movie turned out to be a flop it did give Rasha and Aaman the recognition they were looking for. Especially for Rasha her song Uyi Amma became a massive hit. The song has over 140 million views on YouTube. She started a frenzy on the internet and fans still love the song.
Meanwhile the movie has now finally made it to OTT as well. The movie was released on Netflix on the occasion of Holi.
Azaad is a period drama where the story revolves around a black horse named Azaad who is loyal only to Ajay Devgns character in the film. Ajays character is that of a rebel. On the other hand Aamans character tries to befriend the horse and the story takes an unexpected twist. The film is set in the 1920s.
Made on a budget of Rs 80 crore the film earned only Rs 10 crore worldwide making it a flop at the box office.
