Officials at a US airport said a private plane crashed near the air hub on Friday morning. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has confirmed that two people were on board the private plane that crashed near Pitt-Greenville Airport, in North Carolina.
In a press conference held a few hours after the crash was first reported, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol said that human remains had been found at the scene. The officials didn't say whether the remains could be linked to the crash, and added that no survivors of the crash had been located yet. The airport is used for general aviation as well as commuter service by American Airlines. The Greenville Police Department said they are providing scene control in the area of the incident.
