After an early wicket Nat Sciver-Brunt walked in to bat during the powerplay. On her third delivery she made history by becoming the first player to surpass 1000 runs in the Womens Premier League accomplishing the milestone in her 29th match. In WPL 2025 Sciver-Brunt has regained her form scoring 496* runs to date and is closing in on the 500-run mark. Not only is she a formidable batter but shes also an essential all-rounder with 29 wickets to her name. Ellyse Perry currently holds the second spot among the top run-scorers in the WPL having accumulated 972 runs for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Right behind her is Meg Lanning who has 939 runs and is closing in on the 950-run milestone. In the final MI faced an early setback losing Hayley Matthews and Yastika Bhatia. MI captain Harmanpreet Kaur joined Sciver-Brunt at a critical moment with the team struggling at 2 wickets down for just 14 runs. The experienced duo faces a challenging task in this important match.
