Veteran Indian batsman Virat Kohli got angry at the broadcasters and said that there is no need to discuss his favorite chole bhature. During a Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) event, Kohli said that the job of broadcasters is to discuss cricket, not what I ate at night. Kohli has reached Bangalore to participate in IPL 2025 and has joined the RCB team.
Kohli remains in the discussion
Kohli has been in the news since his Under-19 days and has been an important part of the Indian team for the last 15 years. Apart from the game, Kohli also takes care of his fitness. Many times during the match, broadcasters have been seen discussing Kohli's food. During his comeback in Ranji Trophy 2025, Kohli ordered chilli paneer for lunch in Delhi, the pictures of which went viral on social media. Kohli made it clear to the broadcasters that their coverage requires more subtlety and they should not discuss his favorite things to eat in Delhi during the match.
Kohli said, we are working towards making India a country leading in sports. We have a vision. Today we are working at the grassroots level. There should be collective responsibility of all the people involved in this. It is not just about infrastructure or people investing money. It is also about people watching. We need education.
He said, the broadcast program should talk about the game, not what I had for lunch yesterday or my favorite food in Delhi is chhole-bhature. This cannot happen in cricket matches. Instead, you can talk about what an athlete is going through.
Kohli ready to shine in IPL
Kohli was in great form during the Champions Trophy and scored 218 runs in five matches at an average of 54.50 which includes a century and a half-century. Kohli is now eyeing to shine in the IPL. Kohli would like the form of the Champions Trophy to remain in the IPL as well. Kohli is the highest run-scorer in IPL history and his eyes will be on winning the Orange Cap as well as his first IPL trophy.
