Ayodhya Ram Mandir: Ram temple on top in case of tax paying, will fail note counting machine

New Delhi : Mahakumbh was organized in the months of January and February in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, the crowd of people was also seen in Ayodhya and Kashi. Ayodhya is being seen as an attractive center since the construction of a grand temple of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya. Let us tell you that Champat Rai, Secretary, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, has said on Sunday that the temple trust has paid a tax of about Rs 400 crore to the government in the last 5 years amidst religious tourism. He has also said that this amount has been paid between 5 February 2020 to 5 February 2025.

Champat Rai, Secretary, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, has said that out of this paid amount, Rs 270 crore was paid as goods and service tax i.e. GST, but the remaining Rs 130 crore has been paid under different tax categories.

Number of tourists increased by 10 times

Champat Rai has said that the number of devotees and tourists in Ayodhya has gained 10 times, due to which it has become a main religious tourism center and new employment opportunities have been created for the local people. He has said that 1.26 crore devotees came to Ayodhya during Mahakumbh. Apart from this, Rai has said that the financial records of the trust are regularly audited by the Controller and Auditor General of CAG.

Bumper earnings of temples

Vaishno Devi is also one such rich temple in Katra, Jammu, earning Rs 683 crore in FY 2024, out of which 255 crore rupees have come from offering, which will not be taxed and Rs 133.3 crore has come from interest. In the case of TTD, more than one third of the earnings of Rs 4,800 crore have come from the hundi collection. Tax payers in GST context are about 130 crores in FY 2021 to 5 years.
