Megastar Amitabh Bachchan who is 82 years old and reportedly earns Rs 5 crore per episode from Kaun Banega Crorepati has amassed a whopping Rs 350 crore in the financial year 2024-25. He has been making headlines as one of the highest tax-paying celebrities. Despite his age the legendary actor continues to leave his mark on Indian cinema and remains the top choice for many brands.
According to sources Amitabh Bachchan has surpassed Shah Rukh Khan by paying Rs 120 crore in taxes out of his Rs 350 crore earnings. On March 15 2025 he deposited Rs 52.40 crore as the last installment of his advance tax. Last year Shah Rukh paid approximately Rs 92 crore in taxes.
The source also mentioned that Bachchan is known for paying his taxes on time and consistently ranks among the highest tax-paying celebrities. He was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD and will also appear in its sequel where he plays the role of Ashwatthama.
Recently Amitabh Bachchan sold his Oshiwara apartment for Rs 83 crore. Earlier Kriti Sanon had rented the property for Rs 10 lakh per month. He sold it after making a 168% profit having bought it for ₹31 crore in 2021. Additionally he invested over Rs 76 crore in Mumbai’s real estate market while his son Abhishek Bachchan invested Rs 30 crore. In October 2024 the father-son duo purchased 10 apartments worth Rs 24.95 crore. They also bought 10000 square feet of land for Rs 10 crore.
In January 2025 he purchased land in Ayodhya to build a memorial for his father renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
Amitabh Bachchan was recently busy shooting for Kaun Banega Crorepati 16. Now that the show has ended he will be starting the shoot of Kalki part 2 in May.
