Mumbai: The sacred city of Ayodhya is gearing up for the grand celebrations of Lord Shri Ram’s birth anniversary, known as Ram Navami. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has officially announced a magnificent event for Vikram Samvat 2082’s Ram Navami, which falls on 6th April 2025. Devotees visiting Ayodhya on this occasion will have the privilege of witnessing divine rituals and spiritual ceremonies. Several key decisions regarding the celebrations have been taken in a recent meeting of the trust’s members.

With a massive influx of Ram devotees expected, preparations are in full swing. Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, shared his insights with TV9 Bharatvarsh, stating that it is difficult to predict the exact number of devotees who will arrive in Ayodhya for Chaitra Ram Navami. He mentioned that previous estimates regarding the arrival of devotees during the Maha Kumbh Mela had failed, as Ayodhya witnessed an overwhelming turnout. Hence, making precise predictions for Ram Navami is equally challenging. The district administration and the trust are working diligently to ensure a smooth and safe darshan for all devotees, with special arrangements for shade and water along the pilgrimage routes.

Ram Katha from 29th March to 6th April

As part of the celebrations, a Ram Katha will be organised from 29th March to 6th April during the Navratri festival. Renowned Katha Vachak Atul Krishna Bhardwaj will narrate the sacred tales at Angad Teela, with access available through the road adjacent to Shri Ram Hospital. Additionally, an annakshetra (community meal service) will be set up for devotees. Several sacred recitations will be performed besides a yagna (fire ritual).

Ram Lalla's Abhishek at 12:00 PM on Ram Navami

One of the most divine moments of Ram Navami will be the Abhishek (ceremonial anointment) of Ram Lalla at exactly 12:00 PM, when the sun’s rays will directly illuminate the deity’s forehead for four minutes. This celestial event will be broadcast live across 50+ screens in Ayodhya and Faizabad through Doordarshan, allowing locals and devotees to witness the divine moment.
