Which include free travel in buses for women, and 200 units of free electricity, pension for the elderly, many such schemes. Now the question is coming in the mind of Delhiites whether the free travel scheme is going on after the change of government in Delhi or not.
Let us tell you that the elderly are provided free pilgrimage by the Delhi government. The then Aam Aadmi Government of Delhi started the Chief Minister's Tirth Yatra Yojana for this in the year 2019. Under which many elderly people have traveled.
Let us tell you that at present no such information has come from the BJP government of Delhi regarding the closure of this scheme. That is, we can say that like before, the elderly can go on a free pilgrimage under this scheme.
Let us tell you that under the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme of the Delhi Government, all the elderly of 60 years or above are provided free pilgrimage. In which the government bears the entire cost from food to lodging.
In this scheme, darshan of major pilgrimage sites of the country like Ayodhya, Vaishno Devi, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Amritsar, Mathura-Vrindavan, Tirupati, Dwarka is provided. AC trains or luxury buses are arranged for the journey.
To avail the benefits of this scheme, a recommendation from the MLA of the concerned area is necessary. One has to apply for this by visiting the e-district portal of the Delhi Government. The date of travel and other information is given to the selected passengers by the government.
