Instagram Enhances Messaging Experience with Exciting New Features
Instagram has rolled out a set of new features for Direct Messages (DMs), making conversations more seamless and interactive. Users can now translate messages into different languages, schedule messages, and even share music without leaving the chat window. Additionally, Instagram now allows users to pin specific chats, making it easier to find important conversations. Let’s dive into the details of these latest updates!
📌 Message Translation
Instagram has introduced an in-chat translation feature that allows users to translate messages into their preferred language directly within the DM. This feature currently supports 99 languages, making cross-language communication effortless. However, Instagram notes that translated messages will be shared with Meta for processing.
📅 Message Scheduling
Just like the recently added message scheduling feature on iOS 18, Instagram now lets users schedule messages in DMs. Users can also set reminders using this feature. To schedule a message:
✔️ Hold down the Send button.
✔️ Select the date and time for scheduling.
✔️ Tap Send, and your message will be delivered at the chosen time.
🎵 Music Sharing in DMs
Talking about the latest tracks with friends? Now, you can share a 30-second music preview directly in chats without leaving the chat window. This feature works for both one-on-one and group chats. To share a song:
✔️ Open the Sticker Tray in the chat.
✔️ Tap on Music and search for a song in the Audio Library.
✔️ Select a track, and a 30-second preview will be sent instantly.
📌 Pinning Specific Messages & Chats
Previously, Instagram allowed users to pin up to three chat threads at the top of their inbox. With the new update, users can now pin specific messages within a chat. To use this feature:
✔️ Hold down a message in the chat.
✔️ Tap on Pin, and it will stay highlighted for easy reference.
📲 Group Chat QR Codes
One of the most useful additions is personalized QR codes for group chats. Now, users can create a unique QR code for any group chat, allowing others to join by simply scanning it. This eliminates the need to manually add participants one by one.
