Currently Bangladesh is under global scrutiny due to recent political turmoil. After the violent protests and disruptions made headlines Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was forced to leave the country. Despite economic challenges contrast exists between the common people and the nation’s rich class who continue to gather huge wealth daily. Musa Bin Shamsher: Richest Bangladeshi Musa Bin Shamsher often referred as the ‘Ambani of Bangladesh’ is the founder of the DATCO Group a company that deals in international arms and power brokerage. His nickname is Prince Musa who tops the list of Bangladesh’s richest individuals. With a net worth of $12 billion Musa’s wealth is 40000 times richer than Sheikh Hasina whose assets were valued at Rs 2.48 crore as per an August 2024 report by Zee News. Musa Bin Shamsher vs. Mukesh Ambani Gautam Adani While Musa Bin Shamsher’s wealth is huge it is very less than Mukesh Ambani. The Reliance Industries chairman’s net worth as per Forbes’ real-time billionaires list in March 2025 is $94 billion. Whereas another richest man of India Gautam Adani has net worth of $59.20 billion as per Forbes 2025 list. Mukesh Ambani’s empire includes industries like telecom retail petrochemicals and sports which makes him one of the most influential business persons. In comparison to Musa’s wealth Ambani’s fortune is higher in all the terms. Bangladeshi Billionaires Despite facing challenges like poverty and unemployment Bangladesh has seen a surge in the wealth of its billionaires. Entrepreneurs like Musa Bin Shamsher and Salman F Rahman led the economic growth achieved by a select few in the country. However even with their rising influence Bangladeshi billionaires are far from matching the fortunes of global business giants like Mukesh Ambani who continue to dominate the economic landscape in India and world.
