AAP rejigs leadership after election loss; Bhardwaj now Delhi head

After a massive defeat in the recent elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced a major overhaul of its leadership.

Former health minister Saurabh Bhardwaj has now been appointed as the new president of AAP's Delhi unit, replacing Gopal Rai.

The reshuffle is expected to strengthen party organization and responsibilities after their loss in February's elections.

New roles

Bhardwaj has been a three-time MLA from the Greater Kailash constituency. He was earlier Delhi's health minister for two years.

Former deputy CM Manish Sisodia has been appointed as Punjab charge, while Satyendar Jain will be his co-in-charge.

Maharaj Malik has also been appointed the AAP's state president for Jammu and Kashmir.

Furthermore, senior leaders Rai and Durgesh Pathak have been appointed Gujarat's in-charge and co-in-charge, respectively.

Pankaj Gupta will now be AAP's in-charge for Goa.

The party has also relieved Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadda from his role as state co-in-charge for Punjab, the AAP's only holding after it lost Delhi this year.
