India’s highest-grossing star with a total box office collection of Rs 10,200 crore surpasses Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan

For years Shah Rukh Khan Salman Khan and Aamir Khan have been Bollywood’s biggest box office stars each earning over Rs 7000 crore globally. However one actress has now surpassed them all. Early in her career this actress gained recognition with a television commercial for the soap Liril and modelled for various other brands and products. In 2005 she made her runway debut at the Lakme Fashion Week and her fame increased when she appeared in a popular print campaign for the 2006 Kingfisher Calendar. The actress who started her Bollywood career with Om Shanti Om in 2007 has become one of Indias most successful and highest-paid actresses. Over the years she has worked across different industries from Bollywood and Hollywood to pan-Indian films. Now she holds the record for the highest box office earnings by any Indian actor male or female. We are talking about Deepika Padukone. Deepika Padukone is the box office queen With an 18-year-long career Deepika Padukone’s films have earned a massive Rs 10200 crore worldwide - Rs 8000 crore from Indian films and Rs 2200 crore from her Hollywood debut XXX: The Return of Xander Cage. This makes her the highest-grossing Indian star ahead of: Shah Rukh Khan - Rs 9000 crore Akshay Kumar - Rs 8300 crore Salman Khan - Rs 7500 crore Priyanka Chopra - Rs 6000 crore While some of her highest-grossing films like Jawan with Shah Rukh Khan and Kalki 2898 AD with Prabhas were ensemble projects she has also delivered solo blockbusters like Padmaavat proving her star power.
