The survey found that 36% of Americans are currently participating in or planning to join these boycotts, with the majority 53% citing a desire to show companies that consumers have economic power, as per the report. Another 49% want to use their spending as a way to express their dissatisfaction with current government policies, reported the Guardian.

Boycotters are also angered because companies are reversing their DEI efforts, as per the report. Almost half, 46% of the boycott participants cited the reduction or elimination of DEI policies as a primary motivation for boycotting, reported the Guardian.
