Bengaluru: RSS points person for BJP Arun Kumar on Saturday sought to put an end to speculation about differences between the two, asserting there is no friction between the ideological family members and that the BJP has a process to elect its own president.

With the election for BJP president delayed by ten months amid reports of strained relations between the party and its ideological parent, Kumar, the joint general secretary of RSS fielded several queries on BJP-RSS relations at a press meet on the second day of the Sangh's national executive meeting.Kumar tried to convey the impression that the BJP is independent, and it is going through the process to elect its president.

Responding to a question of standoff between the BJP and RSS, resulting in delay in electing the party chief, Kumar emphasised all the allied Sangh organisations "are independent and autonomous and free to take calls on their organisation."

"Be sure, there is no friction between BJP and RSS. We work together on the issues of society and nation. And we continue to work on these issues with mutual trust," he said.

On the issue of BJP president elections, Kumar noted that every organisation has its own internal election process and the same is going in the BJP as well. And "it is free and independent to carry out its president election process."
