Has Rs 2000 come into your account from somewhere? Has this been sent by a scammer? Scammers have found a new way of cheating, which is called the Jump Deposit Scam. In this, scammers first send two to three thousand rupees to your account. As soon as you see the notification and go to your account, the scammers will withdraw all the money from your account.

You might be wondering how this can happen. Because you neither clicked on any link nor did you tell your PIN to anyone on the phone, then how can money be withdrawn from your account? Let us tell you how this new Jump Deposit Scam works.

What is Jump Deposit Scam?

In this scam, the mobile user gets a notification that some money has been deposited in his account. As soon as you go to your UPI account to check this, the scammer has already sent you a withdrawal request and as soon as you enter your PIN, his request gets approved and money is withdrawn from your account.

How to avoid this?

One way to avoid this is that if you receive any money from an unknown number, do not immediately go to your UPI platform to check it. Rather wait for some time. So that the scammer does not succeed in the plan he has made. Check half an hour or an hour or two after the money arrives. Apart from this, first enter the wrong PIN on the app, so that the scammer's request gets cancelled. For any complaint related to scamming, contact 1930.
