Travel Disruptions Alert! Many Trains Cancelled, Routes Altered Due to Construction Work
Passengers traveling via Gurugram railway stations, especially on the Delhi-Rewari and Jaipur routes, should brace for major disruptions. A scheduled railway traffic block is in place from March 23 to March 28 due to the connection of Gurugram’s Patli station to Manesar MSIL. This will significantly impact train schedules, leading to cancellations, delays, and rerouting of several trains throughout the week.
With over 40,000 daily commuters and an additional 15,000–20,000 long-distance passengers traveling through Gurugram, these disruptions will cause significant inconvenience. During this six-day period:
8 passenger trains have been cancelled
3 trains will be short-terminated
4 trains will take alternative routes
5 express trains will be rerouted
One passenger train will experience a delay of 40 minutes before resuming its journey
Railway officials confirmed that nearly 10 kilometers of new railway track has been laid to connect Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) in Manesar. Previously, Maruti-manufactured vehicles were first transported via trucks to Patli station before being loaded onto goods trains. With the new railway track, trains will now be able to transport vehicles directly from the Maruti plant, reducing transportation time and improving logistics efficiency. To complete this connection, a power block has been implemented, affecting passenger train services.
